Having healthy employees can often lead to a healthy business. Not only by improving profit and productivity via a reduction in costs through absenteeism, but because of the many other benefits. Fit and healthy people are often happier through improved self-esteem, they rise to challenges better, they have more will power, they understand about hard work and success and they are happier from natural highs of exercise. Having an internal company wellbeing programme can also bring a sense of camaraderie to the office environment as the whole team work towards common goals.
It's clear having a corporate wellness programme in the workplace can result in a number of benefits, but we also understand it has to fit with overall business objectives and meet budget constraints. KT Chaloner not only has a number of fitness qualifications, but also holds an MSc in Organisational Change and Development and several years experience managing large HR projects. Therefore, KT knows the challenges all businesses face when integrating a corporate wellness programme. This is why, in fitting with the rest of Power To Be, all corporate programmes are personal and bespoke to each clients business needs.
What Kind of Corporate Wellness Programme Can You Incorporate?
- Team members can attend any of our open programmes or we can bring the programme to your workplace
- We can adapt the One Day to a New You and Our Transformation Weekends to incorporate strategic, team building, AGM's or Leadership Development sessions. We can even provide facilitators for these sessions
- We can manage a wellness awareness campaigns including monthly newsletters, motivational emails, and posters & leaflets on varied health, wellness and nutritional topics
- We can provide wellness seminars in health, fitness and nutrition and incorporate classes. If you have the space, we have the imagination
...Or.... we can combine any of the above. Our wellness programmes are based on your needs and your budget. We recently worked with Polymorph to create a programme to help employees go from 0 to 12 miles in 12 weeks in order to complete the Hellrunner race and raise money for charity.
We used KT at Power To Be to create two 12 week programmes for the Polymorph team: One for those who couldn't run at all and one for those who had some experience. Both did the trick, as every member of the Polymorph team crossed the finished line of the 12mile Hellrunner Challenge 2012. We raised over £2000 for the Youth Federation, but more than that, we fired the team up to achieve something they'd never have thought possible. The camaraderie around the office leading up to and after the event was great. It really brought the team together

Taking a holistic approach to your wellbeing programme means we can offer a number of solutions to suit. If you’re still not sure, here are 9 reasons to give KT a call and arrange a meeting:
1. Reduced absenteeism and health care expenditure
Employees who are physically fit and eat a healthy diet are generally more resistant to the ‘bug going around’ than a person who isn’t, as their immune system is more effective.
2. A greater level of focus from your employees
Employees who are physically fit and eat a healthy diet have more energy due to a more efficient metabolism and more stable blood sugar levels. Therefore, they can stay focused and concentrate on the task at hand.
3. A high achieving team
Employees who are physically fit tend to have more self-confidence because they have proven to themselves they can do what it takes to obtain a certain level of fitness. This self-confidence empowers the employee to challenge themselves and strive for higher levels of achievement.
4. A team with confidence in the colleagues and management
Physically fit employees tend to inspire confidence from others due to being able to maintain high levels of fitness and good health. It’s often a goal that others in the office have failed to achieve.
5. Employees who can regularly set and achieve goals
Physical fitness and a healthy diet demands an individual sets goals and stays on the path to achieving these goals despite temptation. This skill is naturally brought into the workplace and is a valuable asset to your business centre
6. Employees with positive attitudes
Physically fit and healthy employees tend to ‘feel good’ and as such, they have a physical and mental balance that results in a more positive attitude in the workplace
7. A less stressed workplace
Regular exercise can decrease the release of the stress hormone cortisol, and increase the release of chemicals known as endorphins or ‘the happy drug”. This restores the body’s chemical imbalances relating to stress.
8. Excellent team building and cohesion
A health and fitness programme provides employees with ways to take their professional relationships to a new level. They will discover the varying skills within the team and different ways to work together.
9. An employer of choice
Employees notice when an organisation takes an interest in them. Providing opportunities for them to achieve their physical and weight management goals encourages employees to think positively of their employer. It also provides a common goal, a water cooler talking point and a great atmosphere in your office.
